2019 FALLS SPORTS UPDATE:

During the construction of the new T&F complex this fall, field hockey will be practicing and playing home games at the P&R complex on field 7 (nearest the high school). All varsity boy's and girl's soccer games will be played at the HS game field, while soccer practices will alternate between the (2) MBA soccer fields, one P&R soccer field, and the HS game field when ready. JV Soccer games will be played at MBA.


There are (2) options to access the varsity soccer field: right side of the main parking lot around the SES fence towards the baseball field and left side through the P&R parking lot in front of the softball field. Access to field 7 for field hockey is from the Field Road entrance to the park or by the access road behind the high school. The access road back gate behind the high schoool will be left open after school.

The 2019 Somers Class S Champion Softball Team celebrates at the Somers 4 Town Fair Parade!

The girl's cross country team is 13-0 after their senior day wins to become the 1st SHS girl's cross country team to go undefeated during the NCCC regular season!​

Seniors Zachary Hojnowski, Kylie Raymond, and Hayden Eatsman are honored at the team's senior day celebration!

The boy's cross country team celebrates senior day after two wins vs. Stafford and Classical as they prepare for the NCCC Championships at Bolton HS on October 17th.​​​

NCCC CHAMPIONS: CONGRATULATIONS to the girl's cross country team for ​continuing their undefeated season by winning the league championship at Bolton High School on October 19th!  Kylie Raymond won her 3rd consecutive girl's championship, and was joined on the All NCCC team by Treena Pitts, Ella Campion, and Rachel St. Germain. Tanner Hammond made the boy's All NCCC team as well.

Our boy's soccer team seniors, field hockey senior girls, and girl's soccer seniors celebrate their respective senior days.

Kylie Raymond won her 3rd consecutive state championship while Rachel St. Germain​ finishes 5th in leading the girl's cross country team to their 3rd place finish in Class S. Both Kylie and Rachel qualified for the State Open Championships scheduled for November 1st. UPDATE: Kylie Raymond finishes 12th at the Open which qualifies her for the New England Championships! Rachel St. Germain finished 38th........CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH!! UPDATE: Kylie Raymond finished 44th at the New England Championships......congratulations on qualifying for the past (3) years in a row for New Englands!!

Congratulations to ​seniors Kylie Raymond (cross country at American University), Marissa Long (women's lacrosse at AIC) and Brienna Bernier (women's lacrosse at Liberty University) for signing their NCAA Letters of Intent!!

Members of the SHS Class Act Sportsmanship Council Marissa Long, ​Emily Reynolds, Kylie Raymond, Sarah Finnegan, and Shawn Gentilcore attended the 2019 CIAC Sportsmanship Conference at the Aqua Turf on November 21st, participating with (120) Connecticut high schools in developing student based programs in promoting good sportsmanship.

The girl's cross country team with Coach Szafir receive their NCCC Championship banner at fall sports awards. Kylie Raymond also received her 3​rd straight Class S Championship banner.

2019-20 WINTER SPORTS UPDATES:

The boy's basketball team celebrates with senior Alex Barresi, who scored his career 1000th point in the Stafford win. Congratulations Alex!!!!!

Congratulations to both Kylie Raymond and Rachel St. Germaine for being selected ​to the Hartford Courant All Area team for girl's cross country. Patrick Brown and Samantha Brown were also selected to the Honorable Mention All Courant soccer teams. Congraluations to all (4) student athletes!

Congratulations to Lauren Champiny, as she signs her commitment (with her parents and friends) to play field hockey at Westfield State! ​

Seniors Summer Nadler and Marissa Long (with their parents) are acknowledged on senior day for the girls basketball team!​

Congratulations to boy's basketball seniors Alex Barresi, Derek Hostetler, Aiden Miller, Egan Foye, Dimitri Sanchez, Kyle Yvon​, and managers Kaitlyn Savage, Megan Hollister, Sophia Carenzo, and Lauren Champiny as they are acknowledged at senior night with parents and families.

Congratulations to the wrestling team for finishing 5th at the NCCC Championships at Suffield High School. Cooper Barrett, Linards Bekeris, and Dominic Zuccalo finished first in their weight classifications​​. UPDATE: Congratulations to the wrestling team for their 16th place finish in the Class S State Championships, where Linards Bekeris placed 3rd, Tanner Hammond placed 5th, and Cooper Barrett placed 6th with all (3) qualifying for the state open in New Haven on February 28-29th!

Congratulations to Taylor McCormick for finished 3rd in the 106 lb. division in the CIAC 1st ever girl's wrestling open championships!!!​
